Heat up your castle’s pool with the right solar pool heater

If you live in a castle, chances are there is no pool. Pools, after all, became commercially big fairly recently. As you probably can well imagine, there is a lot of technology involved in maintaining a pool. Anybody can dig a hole. Anybody can’t put water in that hole. Unfortunately, if that’s how you define a pool, then you’re going to have a tough time.

Even if you were to expend a lot of time, effort and energy putting tiles on that hole, you will find out in the worst way possible that water tends to attract algae. That’s right. That’s the dark, green, nasty stuff that accumulates in any body of water. On top of that, if you don’t know what you’re doing, you might have a serious mosquito problem in your hands. Thankfully, a lot of castles in Europe don’t have to worry about mosquitoes because it is simply too cold.

However, a backyard castle pool presents its own set of challenges. After all, most of these castles are located in Northern climates. In other words, water freezes. What are you going to do with a pool with frozen water? It’s not much fun. If you jump in, you’re probably going to hurt yourself.

Also, the last time I checked, people are not really excited about jumping into ice-cold water. Sure, it can give you a nice jolt. It can definitely wake you up, but all this gets old really quickly. When you just want to have a nice old time swimming around in a pool, you might want to invest in a solid solar pool heater.

The great thing about the solar model is that it saves a lot of energy. Sure, you’re probably going to pay a premium upfront, but it more than pays for itself. You don’t’ have to plug into the grid. You don’t have to pay electricity bills to ensure that your pool water is adequately warmed. You just need to get enough sunlight and everything pretty much falls into place. You can’t turn off the sun, after all. It will remain free for a long time to come.

Sounds awesome, right? Well, make sure you look up many solar pool heater brands and models. They’re not created alike. Many of them have special placement requirements. A lot have special brackets that you need to be aware of. This is going to be challenging if you’re going to be installing this on a castle.

A lot of castles are up-to-date. They have been retrofitted to meet the modern building codes, but this does not apply across the board. This is especially true among older and dilapidated castles located in Eastern Europe.

Do yourself a big favor and do your homework. If you think the solar pool heater setup is the right way to go, please understand that there is more than meets the eye. You have to approach this in a systematic and methodical way. Otherwise, you might as well end up creating more problems than you’re solving.
